From the ground the tall trees seem so gigantic when walking between them, but from above they look tiny. The bridge shakes a little with every footstep of anyone on it, the wet wooden surface is the only thing between the deep and us.

Just 5 years ago, October 2015, the bridge was finished after only 6 months of construction.
It can hold for wind velocities up to 200 km/h.
How high above the ground is the bridge?
The suspension bridge Geierlay is 100 meters above the ground, spreading over a valley of tall trees and a river. It is 360 meters long and for one and a half years it advertised with being the longest suspension bridge in Germany before a new one, 458 meters long, was built.
About 20% of the visitors just come to have a look without ever crossing over.
